Born in 1982, water polo veteran Ibrahim Zaher is on a reformation journey that is set to predominantly stir up the Egyptian sports industry. As a young adult, IZ was an invaluable member of Al-Gezira Sporting Club’s water polo men’s team, which naturally reflected on his career as a member of Egypt men’s national water polo team, and his participation in the 2004 Summer Olympics. Upon graduating with a Bachelor’s in Architecture, IZ ventured as a full-time architect for two years, quenching his thirst for hands-on experience in the field, before becoming a board member at Al-Gezira club at only 24 years of age. In 2010, he won two consecutive elections as board member at Al-Gezira Sporting Club, which led him to become the youngest General Manager of this reputable sporting establishment, at 28 years old.
He founded his own construction company IND; that has been successfully catering to Egypt’s biggest real estate companies and where he has been channeling his technical and interpersonal skills. In 2014, IZ founded IND Solar division, executing one of the biggest solar projects globally in Benban, near Aswan, Egypt. With a 220-million-dollar budget, IND succeeded in constructing 4*50 MW on a 4 million SQM area approx 350.
